Congratulations to the Indoor Track

Congratulations to the girls who qualified for the All-State meet last Saturday, February 21, 2015. Lauren Waters competed in the 55 meter dash. Mikaila Amerantes placed second in the 600 meter sprint, breaking our school record which she had set just the weekend before while winning the Division 2 title.  Rachel Stier qualified in the 600 meter and Lindsay Goulet qualified in the 300 meter sprints; however, they selflessly withdrew from their personal races to concentrate on the 400 meter relay.  The strategy worked, as the team of Emma Oldow, Rachel Stier, Lindsay Goulet and Mikaila Amerantes won the 4 by 400 meter relay.  This is a back to back All-State relay championship for Mansfield.

Information from David Oldow

On Saturday December 13th, the girls winter track team took on North Attleboro in their first dual meet of the season at the Reggie Lewis Center. It was a great start to the season as the girls won 56-44. Lauren Waters took first with the fastest time of the day (7.55) in the 55m dash. Lindsay Goulet won the 300m for the team and Jackie Dickmann placed third. The trio of Mikaila Amerantes, Rachel Stier and Nicole Mackie swept the 600m.  Lindsey Bjorkman and Lauren Duggan both scored in the 1000m (first and third). In the mile Morgan Debolt and Gianna Madonna-Lendvai took second and third, adding four points to the score. Julie Romano took first in the 2 mile with the second best time in the league. Emily Sarkisian also scored third in the 2 mile. Erin Wager added 3 points to the score for second place in the 55m hurdles.  Both the 4x200 and 4x400m relays won.  In the field events, Sarah Iandoli took first for shotput and Mikaila Amerantes took third in long jump. The Hornets will travel to thte Reggie Lewis Center this Saturday the 20th to face Taunton.
